ADOBE PHOTOSHOP, LIGHTROOM, AFTER EFFECTS AND DAVINCI RESOLVE - EDITING SOFTWARE FOR PHOTO AND VIDEO
ADOBE PREMIERE PRO
I’m primarily a Premiere Pro editor. I’ve used Adobe’s editing software for many years, and have yet to find a project it can’t tackle. For my needs, Premiere Pro is about as good as it gets. From cutting, fine-tuning audio and color grading, it’s very powerful. While I edit most video projects in Premiere Pro, I do occasionally color-grade in Davinci Resolve, which I also highly recommend.
ADOBE LIGHTROOM
I’ll admit it, as a professional photographer, I was a very late adapter to Lightroom. I’d been using Photoshop for so long, I was comfortable and didn’t initially embrace Adobe’s new Lightroom. But when I gave it a fair chance.. Game Changer. The speed, organization, and ability to revert back to the original image in a non-destructive way, Adobe Lightroom is completely amazing.
ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
This is where it all started for me, Adobe Photoshop. I’ve been a daily user of Photoshop since, brace yourself, 1998. There was something so magical about taking a photo, and within minutes, editing and making changes normally done in the darkroom. I was hooked. Adobe Photoshop is a tool I love and still use every day for photo editing, in addition to Lightroom. My Photoshop Presets.
ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS
Adobe After Effects can be a little intimidating to use at first, but is an incredibly powerful motion graphics and special effects editor. Typically, I use this in conjunction with Premiere Pro, After Effects is perfect for adding motion graphics and digital effects to your video.
ADOBE AUDITION
Audio recording, podcasting and audio editing - Adobe Audition is a pro-level audio effects editor. Quickly create, edit and mix single or multi-track audio sources, and clean up audio for videos before exporting them. Another great editing tool from Adobe.
ADOBE CREATIVE CLOUD
Adobe Creative Cloud is a subscription-based service that gives you access to All the tools you need to edit photos and video, whether on a desktop, laptop or mobile device. Many of the apps sync, so what you started on the flight home can be finished in the office.
DAVINCI RESOLVE
Ever heard of Pirates of the Caribbean? Alien? Avatar? Davinci Resolve is a pro-grade video editor and color grader used in many Hollywood blockbusters. Although I usually edit in Premiere Pro, I do occasionally edit and often color grade in Resolve. Best part - It’s FREE. The free version of Davinci Resolve has all of the features most video editors will need. Davinci Resolve is incredibly powerful video editing software that I highly recommend.
