Project Overview
Child portrait photography in the Studio of adorable Autumn.
Children, especially young toddlers, can be especially challenging to photograph. My approach is always the same. Let kids be kids, and be ready.
If you ask a child to “smile” or “say cheese”, you’ll inevitably end up with a fake, unnatural expression. By engaging with them, making a game of it, and having fun, you’re allowing the child’s true personality and expressions to come through. You just need to be ready to capture it.
This was shot in the studio, seamless white background with Sony A7iii, 70-200mm 2.8 at around f4 I’d guess. Aputure 300x lights, and Aputure Light Dome II softboxes. White bounce card below.
